Discovery

This project to visually reimagine Daft Punk’s album “Discovery” offers a new interpretation by breaking away from its original imagery. The goal is to capture the album’s essence through the CD, combined with stone as a reference to the monolith from “2001: A Space Odyssey.” Inspired by discovery, travel, and contrast, we sought to convey the album’s grandeur and timelessness with a cover where the CD is embedded in a raw rock formation, while the back of the vinyl features the band’s logo engraved in stone. Minimalist and streamlined, the design plays on materiality and simplicity, with a deliberately unadorned interior and a discreet track list on the CD. The vinyl records are transparent, and the holographic silver labels echo the CD’s reflections and the duo’s futuristic aesthetic.‍

Workshop conducted with Thomas Cristini, Naïs Favre, Eva Gourdol, and Céleste Tellene, supervised by Romain Garcin.
